Héctor Garza explains in this article published in the "Environmental" section of the 6th edition of Revista Industria Legal, the amendments and additions to the General Law on Sustainable Forestry Development. 

"The purpose of the Decree is to establish guidelines for Mexico to comply with its international human rights obligations in the area of forestry, particularly those related to the protection and safeguarding of the rights of indigenous or similar communities, as well as to mitigate and slow down climate change".
