Samantha Maasberg López joined the firm in 2016. She specializes in Banking and Finance, Energy and Infrastructure Projects and Mergers and Acquisitions.
    Samantha Maasberg has advised purchasers and sellers in the process of acquisition of companies in several sectors. Additionally, she has substantial experience in banking and finance, where she has participated in major financing and restructuring transactions advising foreign and domestic financial institutions. As to her project development and finance practice, she has advised sponsors, developers, and lenders on renewable energy transactions and gas transportation. 
    • Represented Discovery Americas in the acquisition of 39.5% of the shares of air cargo carrier MasAir for USD$29.1 million.
    • Represented Discovery Americas in the investment of MXN$662 million in Arrendamas, a SOFOM and leasing company specializing in Mexican companies and companies seeking sources of financing.
    • Represented the lenders in connection with the senior financing to Fermaca Pipeline La Laguna, for the development, construction, and operation of a gas pipeline for the transportation of natural gas of 450 MW.
    • Represented Parque Eólico el Mezquite and Cubico Sustainable Investment Limited in connection with the senior financing granted by NadBank, Bancomext and Banobras, with respect to the construction and development of a wind-power generating plant with a nominal capacity of 250 MW located in Nuevo León, México.
    • Represented PGIM Real Estate, PRUMEX Industrial III Trust, in the hiring of a simple loan for the payment of certain existing credits and corporate purposes in general.
    • Represented SabCapital in connection to the granting of a simple loan to Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe, through certain subsidiaries, for the payment of existing debt, long-term financing, substitution of liabilities, and investment reimbursement.
    • Represented Empresas ICA and its subsidiaries in connection with the restructuring of over MXN$3,500 million of indebtedness implemented through a Mexican concurso mercantil proceeding that included a pre-packaged restructuring plan.
    • Represented the banks as lenders in connection with a loan granted in favor of Eólica Coahuila for the design, development, construction, operation and maintenance of a wind power plant with a rated capacity ranging from 180 MW up to 200 MW.
