Ana Gabriela Martínez Kruyff joined the firm in 2016. She specializes in Banking and Finance, Energy and Infrastructure Projects and Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.
  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    Ana Gabriela Martínez Kruyff has experience in energy regulatory matters in Mexico and has participated in several projects under the new legislation enacted after the Mexican energy reform in 2013. She has represented different developers, purchasers, investors and lenders, in the financing and development of energy and infrastructure projects. She’s also an expert in the review and negotiation of agreements, including electric coverage agreements, as well as relevant agreements for the construction, procurement, and operation of projects.

    Ana Gabriela has represented different companies in international arbitration proceedings related to diverse industries, including energy and infrastructure related.

  • RELEVANT TRANSACTIONS
    • We represented EDP Renováveis and EDP Renewables Europe, the acquisition of the shares representing 100% of the share capital of the Mexican company Parque Solar Los Cuervos.
    • Advised ENGIE and its affiliates, in connection with a limited recourse project financing in respect of four solar parks and two wind farms in Mexico with a combined generation capacity of 721 MW.
    • Represented (i) Citibanamex, Société Générale and BBVA in a project financing to Servitux, a joint venture between Monterra Energy and SSA México, for the construction of a fuel storage terminal in the port of Tuxpan, Veracruz, Mexico, and (ii) BBVA in an additional financing to Servitux to finance the value added tax relating to the construction expenses of such project.
    • Represented Pattern, Cemex and EXI in the financing of two merchant projects, each of approximately USD$102 million, for the construction, development, operation and maintenance of two solar projects located in Zacatecas, México.
    • Represented a leading company in renewable energy in an ICC arbitration proceeding with respect to the construction of a wind farm in Mexico, as well as the emergency proceeding.
    • Represented Parque Eólico Mezquite in the senior financing for an approximate amount of USD$222,300,000, and its VAT financing, for the construction, development, operation and maintenance of a wind farm of approximately 250MW in Nuevo León, México.
    • Represented Blackrock in the negotiation of an EPC Agreement for the expansion of the facilities to transport coal in Petacalco, a coal facility operated by CFE.
    • Represented Blackrock in the issuance of bonds and negotiation of credit agreements for an approximate amount of USD$347 million, and the security documents for such financing.
    • Represented IEnova, the Mexican subsidiary of Sempra Energy, in the long term auctions called by CENACE in 2017.
    • Represented several generators in the long term auctions called by CENACE on 2016, three of which were awarded.
