Daniela Curiel Cervantes joined the firm in 2013. She specializes in Banking and Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions and Real Estate.
  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
    Daniela Curiel Cervantes actively participates in transactions involving financings, acquisitions and developments across all real estate asset classes, with a special focus on industrial and hotel assets, representing domestic and foreign financial institutions, private equity firms and developers. She also advises domestic and international lenders in structuring credit facilities for Mexican public and private companies, particularly in structured lending transactions.

    In 2016, Daniela temporarily joined the real estate fund, PGIM Real Estate as a secondment where she provided legal advice on day to day matters. She also worked as a Foreign Associate in the Project Development & Finance practice area at Shearman & Sterling’s New York office.
  • RELEVANT TRANSACTIONS
    • Represented the deal manager and initial purchaser in the issuance of debt instruments by independent vehicles, specially created by GICSA, for an aggregate amount of MXN$14,000 million. Such issuances were made by two trusts that consolidate the flows and ownership of nine projects (Forum Culiacán, Torre Esmeralda III, Masaryk 111, City Walk, Fórum Cuernavaca, Explanada Puebla, Paseo Querétaro, La Isla Mérida y Explanada Pachuca) which as of this date are, directly or indirectly, owned by GICSA.
    • Represented an affiliate of Walton Street Capital in its acquisition of JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City.
    • Represented Fibra Macquarie México in the acquisition of two operating shopping malls in the State of Mexico.
    • Represented a joint venture between Walton Street and Copri in the acquisition of land and the development of a high-end housing complex, in the area known as “Parque la Mexicana which benefits approximately 150 thousand people.
    • Represented PGIM Real Estate México, Investment Trust in Industrial Real Estate (FIBRA) Terrafina, in the acquisition of an industrial portfolio of Industrial Parks Intermex, consisting of 49 properties located in different states of the Mexican Republic (Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Jalisco, Sonora, Guanajuato, Durango, and Tamaulipas), in the amount of USD$431 million.
    • Served as council to Casas GEO and 16 of its subsidiaries, in the largest ever insolvency procedure in Mexico. At play are 18 billion dollars of claims and counterclaims and almost 12,000 creditors.
    • Represented Linzor Capital in its investment in, or acquisition of, several companies in the education and technology industries.
