Ricardo Calderón Mendoza specializes in domestic and cross border M&A and financing transactions in different sectors, representing both investors and financial institutions. He also has extensive experience in real estate transactions, including financings, acquisitions, asset sales and developments. He regularly advises rating agencies, primarily on structured finance transactions and regulatory matters.
In 2002, Ricardo worked in the international legal area of Banamex and was Deputy Director in the Strategic Planning and Corporate Development area of Grupo Financiero Banamex. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as a Foreign Associate in Sidley & Austin's New York office.
Represented CCLA, a partnership between CIM Group and Compass Group (which is focused on developing and operating real estate in Latin America) and GIC (Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund), in the execution of an investment agreement with Impulsora Plaza la Palma (Hoteles City Express).
Represented CCLA, a partnership between CIM Group and Compass Group (which is focused on developing and operating real estate in Latin America) and GIC (Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund), in the acquisition of a plot of land of approximately 2,000 square meters, to construct, develop and operate a 185 unit for-rent multi-family project in the Pablo Neruda Avenue, Colonia Providencia neighborhood, in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Represented CCLA and GIC in the acquisition of a plot of land in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, valued at MXN$198.9 million, for the construction, development and operation of a multifamily rental housing project of approximately 480 units.
Represented CCLA, a partnership between CIM Group and Compass Group, and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, in the establishment of a joint venture with Estrategia Urbana to develop and operate a 400 unit for rent multi-family project in Mexico City.
Advised Bancomext in the structuring of a credit agreement in virtue of which Bancomext granted a partial guaranty for 33% of the total amount of a MXN$1.5 billion debt, issued by Compañía Minera Autlán in the Mexican Stock Exchange.
Represented Export Development Canada in a USD$4 million credit agreement with Exo-s Industrias.
He recently represented Essilor in connection with certain strategic agreements with Devlyn Group for the manufacture and supply of lenses.
Represented CIM Group in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of multi-family buildings in Mexico and Monterrey from Prudential Real Estate Investors.
Has represented for more than 15 years Standard & Poor’s, Fitch Ratings and HR Ratings in connection with structure finance transactions and regulatory matters.
