Cecilia Legaspi has more than 9 years of experience advising domestic and international financial institutions in structuring and restructuring credit facilities for Mexican public and private sector entities. She has participated in several restructuring projects involving Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua and Grupo Desc, as well as structured financing for Banorte, Citibank and HSBC.
As to her mergers and acquisitions experience, Cecilia has advised private equity funds in acquisitions of businesses and assets within the energy, financial and real estate sectors, among others. She also has experience advising financial institutions, private equity funds and developers in the financing of real estate projects.
From 2014 to 2015, Cecilia worked as a Foreign Associate at Cleary Gottlieb in New York, where she contributed to the Latin American practice group.
Represented Banorte in the financing to Thor Urbana for an amount up to MXN$1,728 million for the construction of a shopping center in Metepec, Estado de México.
Represented Morgan Stanley and Credit Agricole in the financing to Poinsettia Finance Limited, a vehicle established by KKR, for the acquisition of certain oil and gas infrastructure assets from Pemex Exploración y Producción, which were subsequently leased backed to PEP pursuant to a 15-year lease. The financing included the issuance of senior secured notes, and a senior secured credit agreement.
Represented Scotiabank Inverlat as lender and administrative and security agent, in a syndicated loan granted to TIP de México for an amount of MXN$1,000 million.
Represented lenders and agents in the issuance and refinancing of Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua.
Represented lenders and agents in Pemex’s 2011 and 2012 financings for an amount of USD$1500 million.
